Unbelievable growth.
Thank you so much for the help and encouragement you have given us in our business. When Malcolm told us 18 months ago that it was possible that we could do a given level of sales we thought perhaps he'd had a beer or two too many. It turns out he was wrong -- our fiscal year end is January 31 and we are now over 11% above his targeted sales. Before we purchased the ARMS system our business was doing well under 60% of what we achieved this year. We have worked very hard at it, but we now feel that at least there is some direction to our efforts. The guidelines you have set out for us have helped immensely.
The best advice we got was to move up-market and to buy diamonds. Our loose diamond business has grown unbelievably. We are a town of 5,000 people with a trading area of 30,000+. We had no idea of the potential in our business; we knew we could do better, but never believed that we could achieve the kind of results we have with the ARMS program. We still work very hard (our staff right now is even less than when we started on ARMS), but at least we get to keep some money for ourselves. You gave us some extra help with cash flow planning at the start and we want you to know that we do appreciate it. The ARMS program for small jewellers is a no-brainer. We are living proof. Priceless expertise. |
In the 20 months we have been using the ARMS system we have decreased our stock level by over 30% and increased our turnover and gross profit by over 40%. Prior to purchasing the system, ARMS gave us an iron-clad guarantee that if they could not improve our gross profit by at least 10% in the first twelve months they would refund all monies. As our accountant said, we had everything to gain and nothing to lose.

Fantastic results.

Our store has been using the ARMS system for over five years. In that time we have had fantastic results through the use of their management reports and stock control system. For a brief period in that five-year period we actually changed systems from ARMS to Red Software. This proved to be a very costly mistake for our business. After being on the Red System for less than ten months we decided that we had no choice but to return to the ARMS system. The only reason for our change to Red in the first place was based on price and their system seemed to offer everything that ARMS did. Once again the very old saying rang true, “You get what you pay for”.
After now having used two different systems, we now know there is only one system for our business and that is ARMS. The ease that the management reports are set out, the way they handle fast-selling stock, the backup from the support department, everything, in our opinion is far superior to their competitor. The differences between the two systems are too many to list. Since being back with ARMS we once again have greater control over the management of our business.

Cashflow under control.
One of the most beneficial things to come out of our ARMS ProActive Management consultations is the 'Total Stock Purchasing Budget'. Before using this system, my cash flow was all over the place but now I'm right on top of it to the extent that I will be claiming a discount from my Buying Group this month for the first time in two years.
